Maes Athen Solar & Battery Project
The Maes Athen project is a 700 kW ground-mounted solar PV installation paired with 1 MWh of battery storage. Located behind the village of Llanerchymedd, Anglesey, it will provide enough electricity for over 200 homes.

- 1 MWh battery to support grid flexibility
- Designed for behind-the-meter or grid export capability
- Grid connection application submitted to SPEN (11 kV network)
- Developed on land owned by director of Step Up Exploration and co-owners
Community Investment Opportunity
We are seeking up to £440,000 in matched funding to support the Ynni Cymru Capital Grant application and complete the development. Local community ownership is encouraged via platforms such as Crowdcube.
